Metabolism Boosting Foods to Stimulate Your Metabolism

Including the right kind of metabolism boosting foods in your diet is a decision central to the success of any successful weight loss plan.

To lose weight you do need to reduce your calorific intake each day.  To do this take a look at all the foods you generally eat and decide how quickly you want to lose weight.  Then decide how much food you are able to remove from your diet.

The faster you want to lose weight, the less your calorie intake can be.  There is a point at which this eating plan stops taking effect.  When your daily food intake is somewhere between 1000 and 800 calories your body’s metabolic rate drops as your body assumes a survival mode.  Reducing calories beyond this point is counter productive.

So always include metabolism boosting foods such as fish, chicken, eggs and low fat cottage cheese in your healthy eating plan because these stimulate your metabolism.  Add to these bulky low calorie foods such as low-carbohydrate fresh fruit and vegetables for a well rounded diet.

To prevent the full amount of glucose from carbohydrates being released as energy in your body’s cells also take care when deciding to include foods containing carbohydrates.  Ideally to lose weight, you should reduce your intake of carbohydrates to around 60grams each day.  Eat high protein or low-fat products as these are metabolism boosting foods that your body needs to burn energy and lose weight, not foods containing energy-producing carbohydrates.

Watch the number of fats you consume in your weight loss program.  Fats contain more calories and have a greater potential to be converted to fat in your body than either proteins or carbohydrates.  Reducing your fat intake means eating lean meat, low-fat products such as milk and yoghurt and avoiding fat-rich foods like full-fat cheese, milk and ice cream as well as some seeds and nuts.  Instead eat fruits and vegetables and some grains.

So low-fat foods, protein found in fish and lean chicken and meat and eggs along with fresh fruit and vegetables low in carbohydrates are the best metabolism boosting foods to include in a successful weight loss program.  Along with plenty of water across each day, eat these to lose weight healthily and naturally.
